    How To Fix Windows Unable To Detect Android Phone

    There are two methods to fix windows unable to detect android phone problem, I'll first take on the first method which sometimes works but sometimes it fails, then the second method which is more likely to work in fixing the windows unable to android problem. The first method actually failed in my case while the second was successful. So, if you're doubtful you can just skip the first and move to the second method to successfully windows unable to detect android error/problem.

    How To Fix Windows Unable To Detect Android, Installing Drivers From WindowsINF

    To fix the windows unable to detect android by installing android we'll have to:

    1. Click on the start button and search for 'Device Manager'.

    2. Open Device Manager app and scroll down to the unrecognised device which is sometimes identified by the the name of the device, unknown device or MTP device.

    3. What ever it's identified with, right click on it and select 'Update Driver Software'. Select Browse my computer for driver software.

    4. From the next pop up, browse through your drive C:\ and select WindowsINF folder as the location for the driver and click 'OK' and click 'Next' to complete the process.

    After doing the above, you either get a successful message as in the image below or get an error like 'A service installation section in this INF is invalid.' or any other error message.

    If you got an error while trying to fix windows unable to detect android applying this first method you can then move to the second method which is more likely work than the first.

    How To Fix Windows Unable To Detect Android, Installing From Compatible Driver List

    To fix this problem by installing from compatible driver list we'll have to follow the first method up to the No. 4. But don't click on 'Next' after selecting WindowsINF as the driver location, instead click on 'let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer'.
    After clicking on that option, you'd get a pop up like the one below;

    Highlight 'Show All Devices' and click 'Next'.

    A list of drivers comes up as seen in the image below;

    Select 'MTP USB Device' and click 'Next', the updating process starts and gets completed quickly. If it fails, go back to the list of drivers and select another driver, keep doing this till you successfully update your device driver.
